Kahlua

Sir Kraab sez: Why make your own kahlua? Why the hell not?

¾ cup instant coffee or espresso
4 cups water
4 cups sugar
1 chopped vanilla bean, cut very small
½ t. glycerin (available at your neighborhood drugstore)
3½ cups vodka
1 T. chocolate syrup

Combine sugar and water and boil for 10 minutes. Add coffe, vanilla and chocolate syrup. Cool. Add vodka and glycerin. Pour into 1/2 gallon bottle. Let sit for three weeks, shaking periodically, to dissolve.


Yield: ½ gallon
